Most youngsters will have seen or maybe collected stickers at some point in their lives. Many adults will also have nostalgic memories of collecting stickers such as football world cups when they were young.
One of the biggest sellers of collectable stickers in the past has been Panini. The Panini Group has its headquarters based in Modena, Italy. They first became known to the public in the 1960's for their football collections. These were to go on and be very successful for many years to come, especially during football world cups.
One of the things Panini became fomouse for was to have the names of countries (in their world cup sticker collections) displayed in their own language. So England would obviously be England, but Italy would be Italia, Germany would be Deutschland and Spain would be Espana.
Some stickers were quite rare and were very hard to get hold of to complete your album collection. These would be worth quite a lot of money to a collector who needed it to complete their set.
There are often fares or conventions arranged for collectors to meet and swap/sell any stickers the don't need with other collectors, these exhibitions can be found all over the world.
